A total of 60 sexed male broiler chicks of Vencobb strain of day-old age were randomly divided into six groups consisting of fifteen chicks in each group. Group 1 was maintained as basal diet control and group 2 on lead @ 300 ppm in feed throughout 5 wks as toxic control without any treatment. Group 3 was maintained on Herbal Methionine @ 25% above normal level in feed (1.4 gm/ kg feed) and Group 4 was treated with lead + Herbal Methionine for the 5 wks (35 days).The lead toxic control group showed a significant (P<0.05) reduction in body weight, body weight gain where as the treatment with herbal Methionine resulted in a marked improvement in all the above parameters. Feed conversion ratio was also improved in treatment group but increase is not significant.
